Meeting Point and Park Entry

Itinerary

NOTE: The itinerary is subject to change if required based on weather and lighting conditions or unforeseen circumstances, including floods, fires, national park closures, road closures, etc.

Day 1 (Saturday)

  • 1 pm - Workshop starts (Fairfield Inn & Suites)

  • 1 to 4 pm - Dark Sky landscape photography class covering how to shoot the Milky Way and Star Trails, shooting in manual mode, the exposure triangle, using the histogram to ensure optimum exposure, exposure bracketing, shooting in RAW, white balance and color temperature, understanding focus and depth of field, composition techniques, and more.

  • 4 to 5:30 pm - Dinner / free-time

  • 6 pm to 2 am - Sunset to nighttime field class at two to three locations within the park (locations may vary based on weather and lighting conditions). NOTE: timing will vary depending on the time of year and Milky Way core visibility.

Day 2 (Sunday)

  • 10 am to 12 pm - Editing class (Fairfield Inn & Suites)

  • 12 to 1 pm - Lunch / free-time

  • 1 to 3 pm - Editing class (Fairfield Inn & Suites)

  • 3 pm - Workshop ends
