2025 (12 Months - 12 Pictures)

Explore Landscapes #106

How hard can it be to post a single image each month? Well, as it turns out, harder than you’d think. I’ve filled in the blanks in this post, to reflect on my year.

Each month I post (or try to post) a picture that reminds me what I was up to that month. They’re not necessarily the ‘best’ image I’ve taken that month (whatever ‘best’ means), but they are memorable for me.

I mean how hard can it be to post a single image each month? Well, as it turns out, harder then you’d think. Sometimes I combined two months into one, sometimes I missed a month. So I’ve filled in the blanks in this post, to reflect on my year photographically.

Not surprisingly, Joshua Tree National Park is featured in 11 of the 12 images. July was the exception as we spent most of the month in the UK.

This last image is meaningful for me as it emphasizes my step towards re-embracing the creative side of my photography. I wrote about shooting my first roll of 120 film (clink here to read) back in November, and unfortunately caused some light leakage (through user error).

In December I went back to the same location and re-shot the image of the Granite boulders and Pencil Cholla as part of my colored filter test shots (post to come).

Thanks again to all of my readers and subscribers for your support and encouragement during 2025. I appreciate you! Onwards to 2026 and Happy New Year!

Until next time go explore, experience, and enjoy our wildlands responsibly, and create some fantastic images.
