Sunrise Workshops

Experience the awe of Joshua Tree’s sunrise in a small‑group (up to three participants) landscape photography workshop designed for every skill level and any camera—smartphone, DSLR, mirrorless, or film.

I’ll lead you to prime viewpoints, teaching you how to harness the fleeting golden hour, manage exposure, and compose striking silhouettes against iconic rock formations and towering Joshua trees. With individualized attention, you’ll receive hands‑on feedback, practical tips, and post‑shoot editing advice, ensuring each participant leaves with a portfolio of stunning sunrise images.

Embrace the quiet desert dawn, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and elevate your photographic vision.

Here are five great reasons to attend a small group sunrise workshop:

  1. Intimate Setting: Groups limited to three ensure personalized instruction and ample shooting time for every participant.

  2. All‑Gear Compatibility: Master sunrise techniques using any device, from phones to film cameras.

  3. Expert Guidance: Receive real‑time feedback on composition, exposure, and post‑processing from an experienced photographer.

  4. Iconic Locations: Access exclusive sunrise spots that showcase Joshua Tree’s most dramatic light and silhouettes.

  5. Creative Community: Share ideas, inspiration, and camaraderie with a small, passionate group of fellow photographers.

Topics covered will include shooting in manual mode, the exposure triangle, using the histogram to ensure optimum exposure, exposure bracketing, shooting in RAW, white balance and color temperature, understanding focus and depth of field, composition techniques, and more.
