My Photography and Hiking Goals for 2025
Explore Landscapes #70
Planning what I want to achieve in the coming year is as important as taking my GPS, map, coffee, and glasses on a hike with me. Here's my plans for 2025.
Firstly, Happy New Year to you, and all the best for 2025. I hope this year brings you peace, happiness, prosperity, and the opportunities to achieve your goals, photographic or otherwise.
Each year on New Year’s Eve, I like to reflect on the past year, but more importantly (I believe), think about the year ahead.

I break down the year into quarters and set short-term goals for the first quarter (typically no more than three) that I want to achieve. These tend to be business and personal/health goals. I also write a bucket list of things I want to do, experiences I want to have, places I want to visit, and people I want to catch up with. I then repeat for the next three quarters. Setting quarterly targets is much more motivating and satisfying as they're more timely and likely to happen, and they give the drumbeat for the year.
So, in no particular order, here are the goals (relating to landscape photography, hiking, and a few related topics) that I want to achieve during 2025:
