Creative Inspiration: Wild Women in Photography - Brie Stockwell
Explore Landscapes #56
I spend a lot of time on the road exploring SoCal and love to listen to photography podcasts for inspiration while I drive. Brie Stockwell is one of my favorite podcasters.
Most (if not all) genres of photography, including landscape photography, are dominated by men. We (men) tend to have a limited ‘vocabulary’ when discussing photography, or maybe that’s just me!
I enjoy hearing female (and non-binary) perspectives on photography and creativity. It adds another dimension to my photographic thinking and approach.
Brie Stockwell is the consummate creative and photographer. In addition to being a wonderfully talented landscape photographer, she hosts two podcasts (Wild Women in Photography and A Creative Affair with co-host Len Metcalf), is a creative coach, wife, and mother, and more recently became a grandmother.
I’ve known Brie for several years and am a huge fan of her landscape photography, podcasts, and ability to put anyone at ease and hold meaningful conversations with them.
In November 2021, Brie and I met in Joshua Tree National Park and enjoyed exploring the park and photographing together.
I urge you to listen to Brie’s podcasts and discover the stories and experiences of these outstanding female photographers.
